Environmental protection is regarded as an integral part of our operations and services and is considered by every member of staff. We carefully plan and manage all of our projects in order to minimise any adverse effects our operations may have on the environment.
Metro aim to maximise the recycling potential on all projects and aim to recycle in excess of 90% of demolition arisings.
Legislation
Metro Deconstruction Services Ltd as a specialist company having recognised responsibility for environmental matters, place a particularly high priority on environmental affairs with regard to company operations. Metro understand the importance of protecting our environment in our business sector, ensuring all of our recycling and environmental work complies with applicable legislation, Applicable Codes of Practice, British Standards, and the following relevant regulations:

Our Policy
Our commitment to our environment shows itself in the careful planning we perform before any project: this involves selecting the correct process and the correct machinery for each task, depending on the unique conditions found on site. We at Metro are becoming increasingly aware,
not only of global concerns, but more particularly those of our own
local environment. As members of the community, we also share its
concerns and will make every effort to ensure that we minimise any
adverse effects our operations may have on the environment.
Metro contractors are specialists in recovering value from a structure and keeping the need for disposal to a minimum. the development of recovery techniques, combined with an increasing awareness of environmental responsibility, means that an ever larger proportion of buildings can be salvaged and create significant cost savings.
Metro will achieve this commitment of safeguarding the environment by undertaking the following;

Be aware and comply with all existing and new environmental legislation and regulations

Implement procedures to prevent pollution to land, air or water

Take environmental factors into consideration in any new developments or contract works

Collect and monitor information regarding the environmental impact and record of the Company

Respond to the needs and concerns of the community promptly

Reduce waste and consumption of natural resources wherever possible

Co-operate in any investigations concerning hazardous emissions or incorrect disposal of hazardous waste

Be amongst the leaders in environmental sensitivity

Be pro-active in supporting the government initiative policy of working well together

Provide adequate environmental training for all staff

Assess the environmental performace of all suppliers

Develop a set of evironmental targets and action plans

Review the environmental policy and its action plans periodically with a view to continuous improvement.
